I believed in Jesus most my life, even prayed for forgiveness every day from the age of 4-5 til I was 13, but it wasnt until I was 13 that Jesus radically changed my heart. I just knew I was saved after praying in faith and repentance. I did not know those words at the time, but the difference God made was tremendous (though outwardly it took some time to display Im sure :). Ive had my setbacks, and the journey has been crazy at times when I would think, If I were really saved I wouldnt feel like this, or struggle so much, But God did not take away my humanity when He gave me eternal life and any glory God gets out of my would be out of His grace. I think that the sinners prayer is very helpful to those with faith, but the prayer itself is not what saves, it is Jesus that saves. If I have any friends who have not been saved, and even those who have, I believe that Hebrews 4 would be a very applicable chapter to read, as well as the Gospel of John, Romans and I John. For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased form his own works... Hebrews 4:10.
