I bought a carpet bag 30 years ago, and I even appalled myself by how much I paid for it at the time. But I fell in love, and justified the expense thinking Id have it for a lifetime. Im here to say that it was a good investment... nah... a great investment. It looks as good today as it did 30 years ago, maybe even better as the leather has aged and the bag has developed the look and the confidence of a mature woman that knows her value. Sometimes we try to decide if something is worth it. Sometimes only time will be able to answer that for sure. And, sometimes, it is worth going outside your comfort zone, for that once in a life time purchase that becomes a well known and well trusted friend.
