I bought a new to me car yesterday. Ive been concerned that the church Id like to go to is almost 45 minutes away. Previously my stable consisted on the 69 GMC, the 91 Trooper, and the 99 1 ton Chevy crew cab. None very well fitted to long drives on a regular basis. I was hoping to find something unique for me - something I havent had before or for a long time. The last convertible I had was an old 85 Mustang that was really for the ex-wife - that was at least ten years ago. Before that it was a 64 Spitfire that was really just a junker, but a lot of fun to drive. So, long story longer - I found a 97 Miata for a super price. It has just at 110,000 miles and has a rebuilt title due to hail damage. The title really affects the price, but thats good for me. I looked it over carefully, drove it hard, and looked for any sign of other damage beyond the hail damage. It is a near perfect little car with small dents all over the hood and trunk lid and a bad paint job. So... guess what my next driver project is? Hood and trunk lids are cheap, paint is a matter of sanding and blocking, driving is a matter of sheer joy. Even ʀᴏᴄᴋᴇᴛ ᴛʜᴇ ᴅᴏɢ™ seemed impressed with his ability to sit in the boot with his head hanging over the side of the car!
