I bought some sweet potatoes at the farmers market. I cut some into half and left some uncut and submerged half of its body in water like in this photo. The woman at the farmers market told me that sweet potatoes wont grow here in Seattle. I still would like to give it a try. Ive read some tips about compost, loose soil, bone meal, etc when growing these. I was going to cut the slips later, root in water and then plant outdoors around April. Appreciate any advise you can provide based on your experience growing them.
