I bought the Dean Martin Roast series @ Costco and started - TopicsExpress

I bought the Dean Martin Roast series @ Costco and started watching it. I was younger than my 12 YO when theses shows aired. The first tribute was to Bob Hope. Flip Wilson and Nipsy Russell were part of the show. What they said couldnt be repeated today, but it was also interesting to hear the jokes that they made about not being accepted into certain places. Regardless of what the left will say, we have ALL come along way! These pioneers accepted blacks in entertainment and put them out there in the forefront to have their say. It is sad to watch though since most on these DVDs are dead. Even Omar Bradley (a WWII 5 Star General) was on the salute to Bob Hope. I tried to use it as a teaching moment to Lauren. Hell, Reagan was the CA Governor and John Wayne made an appearance! I urge many of you to go buy the video so as to live the shows of our childhood, when America and Americans were still great!
