I bought these 4 beautiful balls of Mohair at a fiber show in Tn. a few months ago. Last night, I decided to try to spin them. Oh my goodness gracious! That was the hardest thing Ive spun so far. It is so fine and soft but heavy all together. It kept getting so thin, then would break, so would have to start again. It finally broke and I cannot find the end. Thank goodness I hadnt gotten very far. But I just stopped. I think it needs to be blended with wool? Its so pretty and soft but too hard for me by itself. Does anyone spin Mohair alone? How do you do it? Do you have a special wheel? Or does it need to be blended with other fibers?
