I breed Chihuahuas together with my wife from 1996 and Toy Poodles from 1984 and I think I know at least these 2 breeds, and I think I have proved it with the results that our breeding got during this years! To breed dogs in a high level is one of the most difficult task, because is required a very deep knowledge of the breeds and because is required a lot of sacrifies which sometimes are even influencing too much your personal life! You have to be really careful dont put dogs in front to your personal life. Passion and love for the breeds are the right ingredients for having success and without it no way to go far! What I see sometimes is hurting me so much, as a breeder and as a judge too! Chihuahua is for sure the smallest breed but it doesnt mean that we can excuse construction faults and we have to put ONLY the attention to the head. Somebody call the Chihuahua a head breed, and yes, I can agree, but I totally disagree when the head is going to an ipertype! Too short muzzle is ruining the typical expression of the breed....Head is an easy part to breed but construction is not! Our eye is much more trained to recognise a good head and sometimes its not always so good, because ipertype head is a fault! We must train better our eye to catch the correct head! But the most difficult thing for our eye is recognising the good construction. Chihuahua must have chest and forechest! Right angulations in front and in the rear, must be able to move like other breeds....! Is this so difficult to catch? P.S.: I forgot to say that I was born in a dog family 51 years ago!!
