I broke down and watched the latest X-Men film and actually enjoyed it. It really would be impossible not to with a cast like; Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Hugh Jackman, Jennifer Lawrence, Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy, Halle Berry, and Famke Janssen and James Marsden reprising their roles and Jean Grey and Scott Summers.... directed by Bryan Singer and co-Written and co-Produced by Simon Kinsberg, who now works on Star Wars Rebels. Shit, the cast alone must have cost equivalent to the GDP of some small countries!! The story was pretty good, too, uniting the old cast and the new younger cast. Its not hard on the eyes watching Jennifer Lawrence leap around in the naked blue suit she wears as Mystique, either. Im pretty rough on movies, but Id give this 4 solid stars. I like the first two X-Men films and own them on DVD, but then they dropped the ball, totally, with the third one (NOT directed by Bryan Singer, thats why). The one before this was good, too The Last Stand. I think Bryan Singer is one of Hollywoods best directors. One of my all time favorite films... in my top ten or fifteen list... is The Usual Suspects. I watch that film at least once a year, like Jaws, to remind myself why I love film and why it is the greatest form of art man has ever invented!
