I call my genre Flamencamericana, and I often mention flamenco as part of my style. But I want to be clear that Im not a flamenco guitarist - its a tradition all its own, and I am *awed* by those who truly play it. Me, I just take inspiration, and hope to pay respect as that inspiration enters my music. One of my big guiding lights is Carlos Montoya. His uncle Ramon Montoya was the first one to take flamenco guitar into the spotlight, from its traditionally supporting role.
