I call this rant, Por Eso No Progresamos. A few weeks ago my lovely lady and I decided to go shopping downtown. The weather was perfect, and for some reason we had extra money in our pockets. We parked, and she graciously put enough money in the meter to cover 2 hours. So between 11:35 am and 1:35 pm we were set. After an hour and 50 minutes of shopping, we ended up back to our truck. We placed the items inside, and there was still 7 minutes left on the meter. But wait! Whats that on my windshield? Ala madre, a parking ticket...stamped 1:23 pm...WTF? Seriously, and this goes out to the idiot and his supervisor that condones this sort of extortion. You got to be freaking kidding me. This is why people always have nothing good to say about downtown. Its bad enough that theres not plenty of parking, but its worse when you ticket people 12 minutes before the meter expires. If you think about it, thats a crime...lying on a official document. I doubt that Ill be going back soon...in fact its been years that Ive done any sort of shopping downtown because honestly with incidents such as the one I mentioned, is just plain wrong. If the out-going city manager needed more money, why doesnt he just ask for it instead of allowing his employees to rip you off. Im going to pay the ticket this Friday, but I hope the idiot that gave it to me finds a horses head in his bed next time he wakes up.
