I called TriCities Ambulette today and to say I am flabbergasted - TopicsExpress

I called TriCities Ambulette today and to say I am flabbergasted is an understatement. Apparently, because they are a transport service and not an ambulance (ambulance vehicle with stretcher looks like an ambulance to me) they do not have to follow the same precautions as an ambulance because their transports are non-emergencies. They never come with sheets, pillows or blankets. It is up to the family to supply them. (Was not told this when hired). I asked him what their contamination precautions were and he was very vague and again reminded me they were transporters not an ambulance. I told him that if someone needed to be transported on a stretcher then they would be considered medical patients but he was not concerned about that. I told him that his registration sticker was soon expired and he said he was aware that it was up at the end of the month. I told him about the crack in his windshield. He will look into that. (Probably why the vehicle hasnt been inspected). I told him that although the men were very nice that their appearance was very unprofessional and looked more like they came for rubbish pick up than a human being. He will look into that. So, word to the wise if you are ever in this situation. That is the difference between ambulette and ambulance.
