I called it “poor thing” when Dinka people and other South - TopicsExpress

I called it “poor thing” when Dinka people and other South Sudanese people only choose to spend their money by buying good and services from foreign businesses. This is common with Dinka people. When the Dinka people get use to one way of doing things, they would rather keep doing business using the same way or the same style. An example could be, they would rather buy from Chinese or Indians shop, even when they know they got the same products at Dinka shops or other Sudanese shops. Think of this as if you were the person doing that. I know your argument would be that South Sudanese have no good customer services, and also they have no skills to offer for better business like others. Well think about it, you may believe that the Dinka people lack some skills or knowledge about business, but I don’t agree. The problem is that the Dinka people like to exploits their own people; and that is self-ego, hatred between family, friends and colleagues. There are less people who want to see others thrives. I could be wrong but let that be my own view if you don’t agree. Let me say the reason to why I called this a “Poor Thing”, we are poor and lack so many things as we all know. All we know is that we have been affected by war over several decades and that we never had a chance to be educated. If you think we lack knowledge and skills, and poor at the same time due to the war, then why do we continue to neglect ourselves while we even got a chance to choose to grow? How do you expect us to grow? We continue to relegate ourselves by promoting foreign businesses, and by buying services from others and yet we don’t believe in our own. When do you think we will begin to stand-alone and be independent? When do you think we will be self-reliance and start to gain the level of sustainability, and become confident at what we do? If we persist in doing things in this style we will remain poor forever; and that is knowledge wise and money. We will lose the key and a path to wealth and become survivors forever. Today in South Sudan the constructions of all the ministries buildings, Airports, roads and schools are being built by foreign agencies. Out of this, the problem that we are facing is, we are buying labour, services, goods from foreigners. This is leaving us with nothing but the buildings, roads and institutional systems that we would never upgrade being that we are not acquiring anything from giving away. We should be trading better, and I mean the labour jobs should be going to our people so they may gain skills for the future. Never the less, because of the wars we are wedging, our people are living abroad especially those displaced within Africa have a greater affect on our economy…. those who are living abroad especially in western world send unaccountable amount of money to Kenya, Uganda and Ethiopia and that all gets spend there. Now how do we build a nation when we are spending outside the country? Our main worry has been food and security, but have we come to ask ourselves of who is killing us and who is making us hungry and become survivors for life? I would wish to go on but I think what I got here is enough to let you think?
