I called out a Twitter account which posted this last night: @CheckStopEdm: Alberta Checkstop on Yellowhead Tr at Anthony Henday Dr / Meridian St in the construction zone. Detour through #shpk #yeg #yegtraffic Essentially saying, if you (drunks) want to avoid getting caught, drive through Sherwood Park. Of course I had to respond and requested they NOT tweet out check stop info and ask people to reroute through the Park. A rather uncivilized discussion ensued, culminating with: @CheckStopEdm: @CclrHowatt We are not responsible for the actions of others. We wont stop simply because some small time county counsellor said so. #shpk And a further threat: @CheckStopEdm: @CclrHowatt Because of you we will ensure #shpk #strathco checkstop locations are posted and alternate routes given to drivers. Isnt Twitter grand? And remember, dont drink and drive and you wont need to rely on idiots like @Checkstopedm.
