I came to England in 1978 when the Islamic Revolution exploded a bomb right through my childhood. I later moved to New Zealand in 1981, where I got a new citizenship, and then New Jersey in 1983 where an awkward pre-teen got glasses, learnt about racism and bullying... and how to fight. I became an artist in the 3rd grade wanting to make a difference. I moved back to the UK in 1996, eventually setting up a film company, Bridge + Tunnel (and later a media education charity), in 1998 where I now employ about 5 team members, often bringing together projects which employ many more... Making things like I Am Nasrine while also mentoring at the Company and training young people. I lecture at Newcastle University where I give it my all to UG and PG students who I like to think I give a lot to intellectually and in terms of self confidence and self-belief. I am a tough but fair teacher. I am a filmmaker and I fight for human rights and equality when I can. If UKIP wants to send me back, so be it. I love the UK; this has been my home for so long, long... and I feel more Geordie at times than I care to admit. I also live sometimes in France. I am European and I dont accept fascists taking over my govt. I AM AN IMMIGRANT. If you believe that immigration can be a good thing please like, comment or High 5!
