I came to the fair half an hour early so I could walk around during the time I love best - before the midway opens and crowds throng. I was able to greet the carnies and see things without obstruction. My favorite place where I could stay all day are the youth barns. The cool temps that vex us in Floral Hall are a God-send for the animals who are loving the pampering from their kids. The sweet smell of hay, the animals contented noises and motions - and the excitement in the air of possible ribbons and trophies. Perfect way to start my Fair Day.
