I can count on three fingers how many classmates Ive seen who have - TopicsExpress

I can count on three fingers how many classmates Ive seen who have kept themselves right and tight for the 25 years weve been out of school...and I applaud them. Careful observation reveals at about 25y.o., for most of us, that high school waistline starts widening slowly but for surely...then it becomes difficult to reign it back in...each year, 5 more pounds are added so by the time 40 arrives, you are a whopping size 18 or dare I say LARGER (yes, I said it). (And whats up with all these potbellied, flabby men? Get your muscles back, please.) My excuse: I let emotional drama interfere with keeping my svelte size 8. Silly rabbit. Instead of falling into the gym, I let my failed relationships push me into an addictive affair with chips (still working on breaking that bond). Now, as you know from my gym posts, Im working my a** off to get it back and then some (size 6 is the current goal). What is the message here? I say all this to say to young people, do not let yourselves go...dont do it. Stay on top of your fitness game...Your classmates will spread..Youre going to notice. ..dont let that be you. Trust me...trying to fight for it beyond 40 is NOT easy. So, Keep it together. To all the rest of you: If you have already let yourself spread, think about the root of your self-sabotage. Why are you getting in your own way? Is this larger version the you you REALLY want to be? I know your partner loves you, but are you presenting your best, fittest self to him/her? Do you look good naked? Do you feel your best naked? No? Then go get your life! One pound a week this year is 52lbs. One pound a month is 12 lbs. So, by December, you should be down 12 - 52 lbs at the absolute minimum. Babies arent an excuse to blow up; emotional drama is not an excuse; a hectic work schedule isnt even a valid excuse. Look in the mirror today to tell yourself you are worth it. Then find out how to cut 3500 calories a week out of your diet( hint animal products pack a lot of fat and cholesterol - trust me - eat more plants (without added oil) than youve ever eaten in your life)...and start walking 30 min a day. Thats an easy start. No silly diet or unhealthy pills...just a focus on solid nutrition and exercise. Im doing the work, you can too. Havent you had enough? Find an accountability partner to embark on this amazing journey with you. 2015 is the year you say NO to obesity. Fight fat like the enemy of your health it is. Im rooting for you, and Ill be looking at your pics for a slimmer healthier you this year (and Ill be sure to like any plantbased meal pics I see you posting). :-) Give your health a chance; I believe in you. Love yall, Lisa
