I can remember after the 95 season when mattingly played in his first playoff game as a yankee, looking at the roster and seeing the names Mariano Rivera, Andy Pettite as pitchers I thought, here we go. 19 years later two are gone. I know that my cousin Mario Menjivar or Javier to me, disagreed on wether Pettite was a true Yankee and is he a hall of famer. Cousin I still believe Pettite is hall of famer, but Mariano is forever will be a Yankee. Echoing what DiMaggio said, " I would like to thank the good Lord for making me a Yankee." I enjoyed the wins and championships, and also the defeats, but seeing my heroes retire brings a lotbof tears to my eyes.
