I can remember very vividly my parents telling me, It is not our responsibility to entertain you. While it certainly angered me at the time, I think its the best thing they ever did for me. As an only child, I learned how to entertain myself and, more importantly, I had to get creative. Not that my parents never played with me or organized parties or activities. My parents worked hard to create traditions, and to encourage and support the things that I enjoyed and showed interest in. I think thats whats most important. Give yourselves a little slack, parents
