I can vividly recall that during the days of Operation Restore Confidence the many discussions on the various talk shows about the police shootings. In fact many , many people did not want to know about the persons being killed. To them the methods did not matter. What mattered was the fact that our society was getting rid of its criminals. The voices of those crying in the wilderness for an alternative method of dealing with our crime situation more often than not were silenced. Many did not wish to hear about the consequences. We heard nothing from the politicians in office at that time. To them the society was being cleansed of its filth. Today, some of these very persons would like to crucify the current Prime Minister because he dared to imply that the persons who were there did nothing and asked no questions. To my mind ,this speech raises a lot of new questions that some persons for their own hypocritical reasons do not want to ask. Examples? If there was a hit list who were the authors of that list? Who authorized the termination of the criminals? Why did the then administration say nothing about the killings particularly when the Police Commissioner sought to hush Ms. Mary Francis. I am hoping that some one will enlighten me about these issues.
