I cannot believe how often I see this one. And how many presumed well educated and seemingly compassionate people believe it. People are arrested for entering this country illegally - daily, more have been under Obama than any other president - and imprisoned for it for up to several months to well over a year - waiting for their home country to verify citizenship, and held in deplorable conditions by US standards (as non US citizens are not guaranteed the same rights) , fed little more than rice and spicy water, ripped away from your family residing within the US, stripped of any money or personal property, and then dropped off at the nearest airport / city across the border where you know no one and have no money. These prisons are also a huge industry in the deep south and southwest. As a matter of fact the same person that owns and manages the prisons in Louisiana - also own the rice processing facilities that they feed them to barely sustain the individuals. No money in a dead prisoner - but more profits the less you feed them. I am not saying that entering the country illegally is not breaking the law. I can say that most people doing so - are doing so in a desperate attempt to survive and provide for their families. I do not know anyone who would not do the same. I would.... The human can do amazing things when the survival instincts kick in. All animals/beings share this quality - it is apart of evolution and adaptation to survive. Most the time just a few days experience within another country - and most would see this so much differently.
