I cannot believe that I made it to be 56 years old (and I truly feel that 57 will not commence). Last Saturday I experienced a life-highlight thanks to the wonderfully talented, Sarah Overdier. This is a lengthy story, but I think you may find it uplifting. At the 2012 Bunbury Music Festival, my sister, Rochelle McCollom and I discovered a booth called 1 Take Wonder where if you were willing to be recorded playing an instrument or singing youd receive a T-shirt. At the time I was playing in Faint Signal and felt confident in my chops, so I decided to play FSs R.F.I.D. on piano complete with my solo passage. But. we couldnt get the keyboard to work (apparently a short in the output jack). The engineer apologized but I said, Thats cool, Ill play the chords on guitar. After the recording, I gave him my email address so he could send a link to the video...I never received the email. Two weeks ago, while rummaging through my dresser drawer, I found THAT T-shirt. it says 1 TAKE WONDER @GROOVE U. Groove U? Why does that ring a bell? Of course, I Googled it and found the website of an incredible college that teaches the business aspect of the music industry, but I still felt a deeper connection, especially when I saw their location to be Columbus, OH. It dawned on me that that is where Sarah works. I told Stu McCollough about this Friday and he said, Maybe Sarah would be able to access your video. Sarah is a member of an absolutely incredible band from Columbus, OH, called The Salty Caramels and they happened to be in Cincinnati last Saturday playing at The Crows Nest. So naturally, I wore the T-shirt. When she came over to give all us S-Caramel Lovers a hug, she stopped in her tracks and yelled, Where did you get that shirt? I told her the complete story and immediately she said shed find the never-realized video. I watched her plugging away at her phone and a mere couple of minutes later she excitingly ran up to me. There it existed on YouTube - YouTube, surprisingly I pretty much access the website every day. There is no need to watch the video since the guitar playing is rough because I wanted to do the piano part, but just having access to this footage provided a great gift for my 56th birth anniversary. https://youtube/watch?v=KVv4lpsFyDM
