I cannot express how proud I am of Alex. I know Ive said it before, and Ill be damned if I dont say it again: I am the proudest friend and teacher of Alexandru Gros Grindvoll. I met him in 2011, over YouTube. Gave him a compliment and added him on Facebook. I then met his father, Leif Tore Grindvoll, referring to him as Sir and nothing less. I got to know Alex through his father, who told me that he loved music and would love to learn the guitar. So I offered to teach the lad over skype. I came to learn that Alex was as hungry for music as a drowning human is starved for air. Everything I taught him, no matter how difficult, he perfected in that two hour lesson I gave him each Thursday for two years. He listened to everything I told him and obeyed every instruction I gave him. He never gave me grief and we always enjoyed the lessons. He grew from a shy, young lad who could barely speak a word of English to an almost fluent beast who is confident in himself and completely sure of himself. He proceeded and proceeds to surprise me and everyone around him in every way. From a YouTube newbie to an amazing instrumentalist and vocalist to part of a boyband, all in the course of three years. You and your family will always have a special place in my heart. You have taught me things about life and myself that I would never have thought possible today. Keep up the good work, lad. Im proud to call you brother and friend. :)
