I cannot help it. My spirit COMPELS me to fight what is not right when it comes to me. My Chi is that of a Fighter. Even when I put my livelihood is at stake; when my career is jeopardized; when my creaturely comfort is threatened. I fight. My history is a matter of public record. I have on more than one occasion laid it ALL on the line for the sake of a principle of right. Contrary to popular belief, I do not pick fights. At least, hardly ever ;-) I enjoy drama-free peace as much as the next man. Fights seem to always find me though. I know the wisdom of pick your battles, and I employ that wisdom. But there is a list of things I simply have no tolerance for, and will fight it every time because my spirit compels me to. On the other hand, I do not fight to be right when I am clearly wrong. I own up to my wrong and do what I can to make it right. This spirit of mine does not facilitate an easy life or a whole bunch of friends - the latter come few and far between. But whether my life at any moment is at a peak or a valley, if I can look at myself in the mirror with dignity, then Im good.
