I cant begin to tell you how difficult the last month has been. I - TopicsExpress

I cant begin to tell you how difficult the last month has been. I cant quite explain how stressful it can be to watch a dog improve and decline at the rate weve seen with Honey. Most other things go on hold and its just like treading water. Weve been back and forwards to the vet, on and off and switching medication and keeping Honey and my house clean has been a full time job in itself. Before going to work five days a week that is! Feeling overwhelmed by the heat on Friday, the stench when I got home and knowing I had an eight hour round trip the next day to grab Bruno was nothing compared to the frustration I felt when Honey wouldnt eat and was reluctant to move. Id considered euthanasia that night. Saturday morning I was up early and unsure of how she would be but the muppet are her breakfast and toileted normally and I was happy to leave her in Tims care whilst I collected Bruno. The early start Saturday meant I was home early afternoon and Honey was no worse. Each meal since has required some creativity and theres no denying shes lost condition. That said Honey is still bright enough that she doesnt present like a dog dying with an aggressive tumour. It kills me to think tonight could be her last night with us, it is without doubt the worst part of rescue. We dont rescue them to lose them like this and to be fair we dont lose too many. The journey of the rescue bears in care is about improving outcomes so to deal with the opposite is incredibly hard. I dont know what tomorrow will bring but if her journey is over it hasnt ended without effort and we will be comfortable that we have done all that we could do. Below is a pic of her snoozing tonight, a little look at the size of the mass were dealing with (taken yesterday) and a pic with the black dog, he hovers close, perhaps he knows more than we give him credit for. Please keep us in your thoughts tomorrow either way we will need your healing vibes - for Honey if theres more surgery or for me if theres not.
