I cant believe I am writing another obituary for a former foster. - TopicsExpress

I cant believe I am writing another obituary for a former foster. One of my first Echo Dogs fosters, Alex, passed last night due to internal bleeding from liver cancer. I remember so clearly seeing his picture on Petfinder and feeling this immediate, intense need to foster him. I contacted the president of Echo Dogs at the time, Susan Fishbein, and she gave the OK. He was about 18 months old. I named him Alex after Alexander the Great because he was, simply, a great dog. He suffered from blastomycosis, lost an eye, was heartworm positive, and his body was full of buckshot. I had Alex for months. He became one of the most important dogs in my life. He just did that to people. His first adopter gave him away, we worked at getting him back, and he landed in the soft, loving hearts of the Biancos where he loved and lived the good life. Their hearts are broken. So is mine. RIP Alex the Great. No dog was ever loved more than you were.
