I cant believe Im actually sharing something from upworthy, but whatever. Once wont hurt (thats what they all say about everything isnt it?). Anyway, point being: shes right. Willful ignorance is our main weakness and their (one can substitute they for any corporate entity really) most powerful weapon. And this is mostly why I have attempted to reduce my exposure to any media that can be flooded with advertising. Radio, television programming, magazines, popular movies aka blockbusters, watching sporting events, etc. I know this sounds like a dull life when you remove all of these things. However, it opens your perception to solely the things which you enjoy. Dont believe me? Try it. Dont listen to the radio (Better yet, dont listen to any pop music. Even better still, dont listen to any music with lyrics.) Dont watch films or television series. Dont read magazines. Think. Stop and think about everything around you that could possibly be used as a marketing vessel and eradicate it from your life for a month. What do I do?, you may ask. Do what you enjoy. And if still left with no answer then maybe that will force you to more deeply reflect on yourself. But, thats another topic entirely; I suppose. Anyway, enough with the rant shit. I doubt anyone will listen and take note anyway given Im not part of a moving picture on a screen. Maybe this video will make up for that. Mehbehs...
