I cant believe its not butter... Well it is NOT. Before you - TopicsExpress

I cant believe its not butter... Well it is NOT. Before you generously spread it on your toast this morning, read this: There are a lot of claims on the package: no trans fat, no cholesterol.... Real butter contains nothing but cream and salt, look at the label here... Imitation butter spreads/margarines are made mainly of refined vegetable oil and water with plenty of additives. It is stated that the product has less saturated fat than real butter and that it contains no hydrogenated oils. If you look at the label you will see partially hydrogenated oils. Hydrogenation, complete or partial, is a chemical process in which hydrogen is added to liquid oils to turn them into a solid form. Partially hydrogenated fat molecules have trans fats, and they may be the worst type of fat you can consume. They deliver absolutely no good nutritional value; in fact, they increase risk of obesity and heart disease exponentially. They do nothing but horrible things to our bodies and were only invented very recently. They only exist in processed foods. Trans fats also include partially hydrogenated oils; not just the hydrogenated kind. We should avoid any food that includes trans fats, hydrogenated oils, or partially hydrogenated oils (INCLUDING SOME PEANUT BUTTER). Consuming products with these ingredients is no different than deliberately injecting poison into your bloodstream. Listen, real butter is not going to kill you. It is a real food, and as long as you dont consume large quantities of it, it will not have any major negative effects on your health.
