I cant believe today is the 75th anniversary of Batman. The legendary Caped Crusader, The Worlds Greatest Detective, The Dark Knight. Different nicknames for this amazing and captivating figure. Hes been my favorite superhero since I was really young. I have great memories of watching the classic and awesome Batman: The Animated Series on Fox Kids. I loved how serious and mature it was. I would also watch reruns of the funny and classic 1966 live action Batman TV show. I loved both. I also would watch the Batman movies, too. Im a diehard lifelong fan. I know so much about him, his legacy, and his rich mythology. He is so inspiring. He may not have superpowers but that doesnt take away from who he is or make any less intriguing. He is psychologically and emotionally complex, hes scarred from his tragic past, hes flawed, hes brilliant, hes ambitious, hes a fighter, and hes driven. Theres such a great dichotomy between Batman and Bruce Wayne. He trained his body and mind to become this crime fighter. Hes such a great and deep character. Some people say hes a crazy person or only a few steps away from becoming the criminals he goes after. I like that he makes and follows his own rules and is unorthodox in his methods. Hes unique and unpredictable. I feel like I could teach a class on him at a college. I know hes a beloved and timeless character. I know hell go on for 75 more years. Theres just so much to him. He has more stories to tell. I think in May WB will hopefully give us all our first official look at Ben Affleck as the new Batman. I cant wait to see how he looks. There has never been a better time to be a fan of the guardian of the night, the silent protector, The Dark Knight.
