I cant express enough how much Kris Kristoffersons music hits me. The only man with brass (ahem) big enough to land on Johnny Cashs front lawn in a helicopter to pitch him a song. I had the pleasure of seeing Kris live along with The Hag at the Tennessee Theatre a few years back and it was a really magical and amazing experience. Along with The Possums Whos Gonna Fill Their Shoes? (had a pleasure of seeing him at one of his last concerts at the Knoxville Civic Auditorium as well before his passing) this song is another beautiful tribute to all the legends of the genre who have come and gone but will forever be with us in memory and music. If I live to be an old man (33 now) Willie, Waylon, Merle, Johnny, and Kris will have been long gone but Ill still play that music for my younger family members and itll live onward. Just like Mozart, Bach, Beethoven, and Wagner, the sounds of Willie, Waylon, and the boys will echo out over these beautiful Appalachian mountains long after were all gone and the centuries go onward as a testament to beautiful music and putting your heart into your work just like the classical composers who gave it their all. https://youtube/watch?v=3pGWM9jcOYg
