I cant get Facebook to work the way I want. Growl... Oh well, heres the post I want to share: Greetings family and friends! I want to start by saying thank you to everyone who has supported me in any way - you know who you are, and your support is very much appreciated. The official release date for The Loan Guide: How to Get the Best Possible Mortgage is now 4/25/2014! The graphic art for my book cover is due today. I haven’t received a proof yet, but I’m pretty excited to see what it looks like. I’ve been doing some editing and additions in the meantime. Most importantly, several folks suggested I add a chapter on reverse mortgages. The chapter is written and sent off to another wonderful volunteer editor, who happens to be a reverse mortgage trainer. Gulp. I greatly expanded the chapter “What Went Wrong”, which is about what happened during the mortgage crisis. Then I greatly contracted the new material. Mark Twain once wrote “I’m sorry this letter is so long. I didn’t have time to write a shorter one.” I get it. The fun thing about editing as that I read certain passages that I wrote a long time ago (I started the book in 2008) and think “Why did I approach it that way?” There have been a couple of passages where editing wasn’t enough; even I wasn’t sure exactly what I was trying to say. So, I had to re-write from scratch. I think it’s easier to understand now, though. I’ve been sending the advance copies off for review, and have been very pleased that some pretty influential folks have agreed to read the book. (But I haven’t seen the reviews yet.) Among those who have agreed to read and review the book are a professor emeritus at Wharton School of Business (Finance) who founded Up-Front Mortgage Brokers, the top mortgage-industry blogger in the country, at least one real estate commissioner and a very successful and experienced money manager. My Indiegogo fund-raising campaign got off to a quick start and then slowed down. This is normal, but we’ll need to kick it up a notch the next two weeks if the marketing campaign is going to be fully funded. Naturally many folks today can’t contribute financially, but if you would do no more than log on to the campaign you’ll be helping the cause, as traffic matters. If you can leave positive comments, so much the better; it all helps. My campaign is located here: https://indiegogo/projects/the-loan-guide-how-to-get-the-best-possible-mortgage/x/6450660 As I hand out advance copies I get very positive feedback. Folks are surprised how much information is in the book. There are a couple of areas I left out (for instance, credit, because there are so many books already out there) but if you’re thinking of getting a mortgage everything else you could want is in the book. (After all, this is about 1,000 hours of work over 6 years.) Anyway, the positive support and feedback I’ve received so far is greatly appreciated. I can’t wait to set the date for the release party, and share the excitement of seeing the first “real” copy of the book with you. With gratitude, Casey
