I cant help but contemplate about all the things we take for granted when I think about the unbelievable attitude of the sahaba, may Allah SWT be pleased with them all. Near his death, Al Khabbab ibn Al-Aratt, a rich sahabi, weeped because many of his companions had died and did not obtain the luxurious life that he was blessed with. He feared that his wealth will be the only reward for the good deeds that he had done and that he will be questioned about how he used his wealth. Subhan Allah this was one of the earlier sahabi to accept Islam and the amount of torture he received because of it frightened Omar ibn Al-Khattab RA after he saw the scars it left behind on his back. Truly these people are the best of examples and their names are even mentioned today because of that. May Allah SWT have mercy on all of us. Ameen.
