I cant help but feel heartbroken when my mother chooses to take down the Christmas tree the day immediately following Christmas Day in recent years! =( Everyone has different preferences surely, but hastily actually wanting to take down holiday decorations as the first thought on your mind no more than twelve hours after celebrating just feels unsettling to me. Especially when acknowledging theres a lot more heightened sensitivity to the needs and compassion of others as well as feeling more glowing warmth all around! I had to wander through the living room with my forearm shielding my eyes! ; __ ; If I had a tree, what Id do is keep it propped up year-round and constantly re-decorate it to reflect motifs or transformations or rites of passage I perceive. And Ill always have strands of lights somewhere on my walls and windows! =)
