I cant say enough about the care I had at Mt. Carmel East hospital this week. The staff were caring, compassionate and professional. Im thankful for the ER physician that didnt trust that this may have been a cardiac issue and ordered that extra blood test that revealed the possibility of pulmonary embolus. At that point on, my treatment was precise and rapid. All of my nurses in ICU were professional but also kept a high level of humor that helped relieve my anxiety. And a nurse just called to check on me today at home. They all were busy, no doubt, but I always felt like I was the only patient they had. Special shout out to a special doc, my vascular medical director, my friend, Dr. Jerry Sterkowicz. He bird dogged my initial echo and kept me informed all with his incredible sense of humor keeping me laughing the whole time. Forever grateful for that friendship above our professional relationship.
