I cant stop right now because I saw this same display of PURE HUMANITY in a scrimmage o had to officiate. The JV coach from Half Hollow Holls West had an AUTISTIC player and explained that to the JV coach from Commack. The Commack coach called a timeout and explained to his players the situation about the opposing player. The scrimmage began and Commack proceeded to play but committed a turnover so Hills West got the ball. Commack played defense until the ball went to the autistic player. When he shot the ball it was as if he was playing for Commack b cause the players were upset he didnt score. Well long story short he had other attempts but was unsuccessful but the Commack players were AMAZING sportsmen about the situation. Even in the HEAT of the battle those players acted in a respectful manner. As a Special Ed teaching assistant on some classes with kids like the player from Hills West it was good to see other people not afraid to treat him like a human then be afraid.
