I cant wait until next Sunday for our Apple Day event - its certainly my favourite event of the year! Once again, weve filled the site with lots of things for you to see and do - including stunning live folk music from Tarn, bluegrass from The Dude Coopers and lively dancing from Golden Star Morris If you have a mystery apple tree growing in your garden, be sure to bring an apple along (ideally with its stalk and leaves too) and show it to the experts from the East of England Apples and Orchards Project Find out about holistic horticulture with Georges Gorgeous Gardens, or how to deal with apple tree pests and diseases with Norfolk Master Gardeners There will be great art and stunning creations on show from Paper Story, Shirley Giles Beads and Jewellery, Sandi-anne, Luffly stuff, The Fabulous Fleece Company, artist blacksmith Toby Winterbourn and Norfolk-based printmaker Amelia Bowman It wouldnt be Apple Day without delicious cider from Norfolk Cider Company and theres beer and ales too from the Norfolk Brewhouse and Sir Tobys Beers See stunning local wildlife photography by Simon Litten Photography and step inside a simply charming creation by Norfolk Shepherd Huts. Head on down to Gressenhall Farm and find out whats happening in the natural world this autumn with RSPB Norfolk and Norfolk Wildlife Trust Pick up your special timed ticket and go behind the scenes at the Norfolk Collections Centre with the team from the Shine a Light Project: Norfolk Museums Service. This is where Norfolk Museums Service keeps some of the larger items from its reserve collections. See a range of fascinating objects, including the tusk of the West Runton Mammoth, a Medieval chancel screen and a 19th century mustard stamping machine. Please note, tours are by timed ticket only and numbers are strictly limited - pick up your ticket first thing to avoid disappointment! Browse stalls from a wide range of local producers such as Pickled Lilly, Brays Cottage, The Norfolk Truffle Company, Crush Foods, Saras Kitchen, Perfick Pork, and Algys Farm Shop who will be bringing popcorn and pumpkins (perfectly in time for Halloween)....and those are just the producers I could find on Facebook! My suggestion would be to arrive when we open at 10am next Sunday, or else you might not fit it all in...! For more information on all the other things happening at Apple Day, please visit our website: museums.norfolk.gov.uk/Visit_Us/Gressenhall_Farm_and_Workhouse/index.htm
