I can’t believe this is the LAST year EVER my big sister will be celebrating a birthday in her twenties! Where in the world did the last 2 (almost 3!) decades go?!? Anyway… It’s a very special day because it’s the start of birthday season (Whit now, Mom’s would have been in 2 weeks, Laura in December, me in January). This time of year is usually the best time in the world, where family feels closer no matter how far they are, problems seem smaller no matter how big they are, and days seem more special, no matter how unimportant they may have been. But this year will be a hard one celebrating all of these wonderful birthdays and holidays without our mom’s calls and cards and retold stories of the day she brought us into the world. But as hard and painful as we may find the moments when we feel that emptiness, it’s so incredible to know I have my sisters, and they have me, to make it through! So even if you feel a bit lost, lonely, or not quite right today, Whit, you got us to help you through. Happy birthday big sis. I love you so much and am so thankful to have you in my life! HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
