I carved a heart out of wood , painted it red , wrote on it , some words you once said , on the outside , it wasnt the same , I carved some truth out of bone , stood it alone , against the test of time , it didnt rhyme , it didn’t rhyme with love , love rhymes with your name , I woke too soon , followed a dream within a spinning Moon that would only shine , half as much as the sun , called your name from inside a dream , do you know what it means , to miss someone , do you know what it means I cried , to miss someone , I carved a heart out of wood , painted it red , wrote on it , some words you once said , on the outside , it wasn’t the same , your words , they came , from the inside “ © Glenn Bowie 2014 glennbowiepoetry
