I caught a fish yesterday, and after wanting to eat a fish for so - TopicsExpress

I caught a fish yesterday, and after wanting to eat a fish for so long, (I love fish), I had to let him go, because it was 12in long total (including tail) and only had a lip hole where the hook got him. Most of all, was because I wasnt ready to deal with a fish upon killing it, being on the way to go visit a friend... so I let him go (or her...) and the fish got to live another day (at this point, probably a season!) I never believed in catch n release, thinking, aw, man, I love fish, I wouldnt let a meal go like that... well, when confronted with the decision of killing a life for a (albeit yummy) meal or letting it go so it can live longer, I let it go. It only had a hole in its lip, and so was easy to allow to live. Just the decision to allow one to live, is something! I would only hope for the same for my life... and besides, we had a roast planned already... I just wanted to know I can catch fish for food if need be... Same for deer hunting: I would like to do it once, just so I know I could do it if I had to. I know I could skin, and probably tan hide, but hunting the actual animal is a whole thing in itself. and killing a life in order to live is a big deal. Thats why killing a whole creature just for a part of it, like a gallbladder, for example, is retarded. An animal should be killed because of the amount of meat it could provide, not how much money a part can cost... duh.
