I chose to dedicate my philanthropic efforts to Habitat for Humanity for a number of reasons- one of which is because I know how imperative it is for every single person on this planet to have a place to call home and, as a gay man, I distinctly remember the overwhelming fear of becoming homeless for coming out. Fortunately for me that was not the case, but there are 1.7 million homeless teens wandering the streets of our nation and almost half of them identify as LGBT.
