I claim this ground a.allpoetry/images/ext/Item/10696/585.jpg?1371000086 I flee as night engulfs these promised days, replacing gladdened hues with deathly tones while unseen creatures mock my coward’s ways to burrow deep when fear seeks slivered bones. Transparent granite stands, negating space, this fortress must resist the wasting stare of lustful traits like risk’s evasive face as fattened-chance awaits the vulture’s glare. Let time advance without my shaking hands and silence belt a hermit’s wan lament for timid distrust rules constricted lands with absent faith that despairs to relent. I claim this ground behind my sheltered walls until eternity crumbles and falls. Author notes Image courtesy of sodahead
