I coily called someone out on being a part of the lower echelon of society today (someone in their 60s, very poorly politically informed) in the context of a minor political debate. His response: I fail to see what etch-n-sketches (yes spelled like that) and childrens toys have to do with this discussion...except for the fact that you are a dumb child of sheeple (yes the word sheeple was used - in abundance during the conversation). Anyway, my takeaway: there should be a series of mandatory 5-year tests that calculate your level of general intelligence, and there should be a cut off point at which you are no longer allowed to vote for the future of your country. Im well aware that one day I may become senile and unable to pass said test; Im okay with that, but knowing that old white people with little to no education walk into voting booths and press buttons solely based on what their pastor or television told them to do is nothing short of stuffing a ballot box. I wouldnt want someone to let me vote in that state of existence, and I dont think others, especially the elderly, should be continually allowed to jeopardize the future of any countrys younger generations without being properly informed. You take a series of a tests to drive a car; why isnt the same required to vote?
