I commented in Asda Newton Abbot about the narrowness of the checkout aisles and raised it with a Customer Service rep who replied snidily We have two disabled aisles but it is ultimately down to the customer which they care to use I felt this was snappy and ill-mannered so I raised a complaint with the Duty Manager who said she would log the complaint and raise it at the monthly meeting. They must have, including the self service checkouts, at least 25 checkout aisles although some of the self service aisles are deliberately blocked by metal posts making them inaccessible to wheelchairs users !! The law says businesses must make reasonable adjustments for disabled people. I do NOT think that two out of 25 aisles constitutes reasonable adjustments ! I saw at least four customers using wheelchairs plus myself in store when I visited there today. Asda, get a grip. Its not good enough !!!
