I confess my need for grace and mercy this morning. I try to only just glance at FB to check up on friends and family. Im too easily sucked into responding when I see hateful posts and comments, for some reason especially those where the hate rests just beneath the surface of culturally acceptable norms where ones social circles make them OK. Hate can even be nice and that can sometimes be the most frustrating. Things like racism, bigotry, and misogyny can rest beneath the surface of even polite conversation and seemingly innocent postures and it can sometimes drive me nuts. The wickedness of the human heart is often disquised by good intentions and motives. Ignorance, animosity, and apathy can be friendly and as such easier to live with and justify. Come sweet Jesus and break up our hardened hearts and help me to trust in you and your radical Way of love to make the world right rather than compound sin upon sin by just engaging in frustration.
