I cooked Mostaccioli for the 1st time. It turned out great and it is finger-licking hoof and great for thr whole family including your pickiest Eater! Try it! Great thing is that it is super cost-effective and can be customized to your own taste! As a Cheese Lover; here is my custom made Recipe: My Easy Mostacciolli Recipe: I ingredients 1 box mostaccioli or penne pasta cooked and drained according to the box instructions 2 to 4 cups cheddar and mozzarella cheese 1 medium size can diced tomatoes 2 small cans tomato sauce ( do not to use ketchup) 1 small can tomato paste 1 can Campbells cheddar cheese Italian sausage meat or ground beef or ground turkey or sausage links or regular sausages 1 large onion 1 green pepper All spice Seasoning Italian spice Chili seasoning Black pepper Thyme seasoning 2 tablespoons olive oil Oh whatever oil you use to cook Cooking instructions: 1. Brown The sausage meat and set aside. If you are using sauage links or sausages brown them in the oven and chop them into small pieces of your choice -set aside. 2 in a big pot or sauce pan heat up the olive oil and saute chopped onions and chopped green pepper. 3. Add all the canned ingredients to the onions and green peppers . Do not throw the cans away yet. 4. Fill the can which had the diced tomatoes with tap water and pour into the pot. Fill one van which had the Tomato sauce with water and pour into the pot. 5. At all your spices and seasoning and bring to a slow boil. At this point You can also add your sausage meat. Reduce the heat and boil for about 15 to 20 minutes. Stir your sauce occasionally. 6. In a big Pyrex or casserole dish spread the pasta then carefully pour the sauce over the pasta. 7. Pour balf of your cheese in the mixture and mix carefully. 8. spread the mixture evenly in the casserole dish and sprinkle the remainder of the cheese over the casserole. 9. Bake in the oven. I spend preheated at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 30 minutes or until the cheese is bubbly and a little bit golden brown. Serve with a fresh garden salad and some garlic bread. TIPS: you can customize this recipe to suit your taste. Fall color and variety you can use green red yellow or orange peppers. You can also skip the meat altogether. Not only is it delicious it freezes well and children love it. It also works great for potucks and parties. Feel free to use as much cheese as you like and mix and match the different types of cheese. Enjoy!
