I could care less about the plot, or the fact that its the third installment in the V/H/S series. I could care less about the shoddy editing and generic VFX. I could even care less about the overused plot devices and tropes, especially the one encompassing the series in that everythings recorded on tapes, hence the title. Ive come to accept this, since such other atrosities exist that use far more money than what was clearly on the budget for this production. But, as a VHS enthusiast, one thing I will not tolerate is that the movies as a whole do NOT look like they were actually recorded on VHS. Before you get on my case that the movies were under time constraints and/or such a thing was not in the budget, know now that VHS is an obsolete technology, and therefore very cheap. I should know, I have a collection, and some of the most valuable tapes I own were acquired in thrift stores and pawn shops. And furthermore, the process of recording footage onto VHS and running it back into the computer is not a hard or time-consuming task. Theyve clearly never seen the production behind Check it Out with Dr. Brule.
