I could never understand how the scientific world accepted an hypothesis based on data which had been cherry picked. Ansel Keys used 6 pieces of data to form his idea that the more saturated fat, butter and cheese for example, you ate, the higher your risk of cardiovascular disease. He conveniently forgot to mention the other 16 pieces of data which if plotted with the other 6 showed no correlation whatsoever, in fact if you cherry picked a different 6 pieces of data, you could form the opposite hypothesis.
