I could really get used to this!…..Day Eight on the set of our - TopicsExpress

I could really get used to this!…..Day Eight on the set of our feature “Grace of the Father” was a repeat of almost all of the days on the set so far….A PURE JOY! We were surrounded by a fantastic crew and a massively talented cast….AGAIN! (I am beginning to wonder what they need me for?!) We started the day at the First Baptist Church of Eustis, one of our ever-helpful church hosts. We used one of their main classrooms as our “airport waiting lounge” where the Mackenzie family waited to board a Florida-bound plane from their home in Fargo, ND. After that scene, we then moved back to Bill and Debbie Kraemer’s Eustis ranch home which doubles as the home of the Mackenzie’s neighbor, Judith Hudson, played by the iconic Miss Suzanna Leigh. The scene we filmed there was our star, Darren Dowler’s first scenes with Miss Leigh. Darren, who plays the head of the Mackenzie clan, Luke, brought his on-screen daughter, Aurora, played by Isabel Myers, to show off the progress Aurora is making training her new baby horse “Dakota”, played by Debbie Dever’s appaloosa foal Dream Star. Darren, who also happens to be the lead singer with the legendary rock group Paul Revere’s Raiders, was in our area with the band for a performance earlier in the week at the Volusia County Fair ….and we were able to get in two days of filming with him before he headed back to his L.A. home. Darren is not only a multi-talented musician, he is truly a fine, fine actor….and all I did was sit back and watch these people ply their craft! A highlight of the day for me was meeting and working with for the first time, actress Diana Lovell. It was an extreme pleasure to finally meet my Facebook friend in person. She is a consummate professional, embodying the time honored actors credo: “There are no small parts, only small actors” when she came to the set for four hours to deliver one line! Her presence as our “Airline Supervisor” adds greatly to our production. I also enjoyed one of our new crew members, Key-Grip-In-Training, Ron Foos, who performed as one of our cowboys in a scene Wednesday, but his regular job is as a bandmate of Darren’s in The Raiders band. He stayed on also to be in our movie and to help around the set. I have time today to include some descriptions for the photos taken by our wonderful set photographers, Joe Mast and Sue Hashley. We’ve got a few more scenes to film next week, before taking a break for the Thanksgiving holiday, so stay tuned.
