I could say that this is the 30th anniversary of my first high school detention (for which I have Richard Hyska to thank, lol). But really I have to think of the times Ive had since then, over which Ive met most of you. Others Ive known all my life and these 44 trips around the lightbulb have been sweeter because of all of you. So I need to shout out my other 9/25ers, beginning with my big brother Tracy Catfish Hunter, youll never know how much I love you and Ernie, man. My cousins Ld Middleton, and KutnKing Cliff, who are among a ton of cousins who I share this day and month with, throughout my family. My cousin Vivian, and my beloved Grandmother Pearl, both of whom are now with the ancestors. Plus my soror S. Joy Gaines, and homegirl Dionne Christopher and of course my mentor and guru Dwight F Cunningham. If I could only reach out and touch you all, the way you have touched me. But in lieu of that, Ill leave you a gift one more time: every opening sequence of Soul Train ever! (Note: I appear in this video at about 6:24 in the burgandy three-piece suit) Keep it Funky!
