I could use some colorful words to describe the 60km National OFFROAD loop we raced yesterday... 180km of pain & madness. Rocky rough or muddy everything, from the tight stuff to the flowing stuff, from the riverside enduro to the almost 100m wide rocky river crossings with their muddy slopes for exits. Picture the bike pile-ups. The loop claimed victims left, right and centre. Some called it quits. As for my day? I did what I came to do, I finished, bike and self in one piece. Although I did go for one or two icy swims with my machine. I pushed a bit for the first lap (to see if Ive still got it), held onto 1st place, then backed down for the two last laps, rode smart & happily took 2nd. Success!
