I couldnt find the post from July 17th to update there about the Honorable Dale G. Bennett Boat Ramp and Rest Area Dedication Ceremony but heres an update in a separate post: Boat Ramp Dedication Update! THIS SATURDAY, AUGUST 2ND, FROM 1PM TO 4PM OR WHEN EVER.... AT MILE MARKER 40.7 EAST BOUND ON ALLIGATOR ALLEY..... THE HONORABLE DALE G. BENNETT MEMORIAL BOAT RAMP AND REST AREA DEDICATION CEREMONY!!!! Weve had a huge response about this dedication! The more the merrier!!!!!!!!!!!! For those coming from Miami side of Alligator Alley, you will have to drive past the boat ramp and mile marker 40.7 because its on the south side of the alley... there are many turn arounds for official use only both before and after mile marker 40.7 boat ramp, but there is a public turn around at mile marker 49 (exit 49 - Snake Road exit). There is a gas station and bathrooms there, I suggest you use the bathroom before coming to the boat ramp... we will be roughing it at the ramp... no facilities other than an inventive ingenious idea... ;) youll see... haha For those coming from Naples side of the alley, I also suggest you stop at mile marker 49 (exit 49 - Snake Road exit) and use the rest room there too.... Theres a public rest room at the big rest area at mile marker 35 both east and west bound, plus theres a public turn around too for easy access back to the ramp.... for those that dont want to rough it at the ramp. ;) If you head to the rest area at mile marker 35, you will have the choice to go east or west (North I-75 towards Naples or South I-75 towards Miami) Just thought Id let everyone know the facilities situation at the ramp... We will be bringing a few chickens from Pollo Tropical, plus about 10 lbs of potato salad and 10 lbs of macaroni salad and 10 gallons of sweet tea (bring your own beverage if you want something other than sweet tea).... sides and desserts are welcome!!!! You may want to bring a fold up chair... there are 7 picnic tables, and many people coming, so seating will be limited. (put your name on your chair!!!) Music, memories, friendship, families, food, fishing and fun are in store for the day!!!!! Hope to see yall out there!!! ps... got some airboats lined up for a few rides in the Glades!!!!! YALL COME!!!!!!!!!!
